Working with Pompey FC to help the Homeless this Christmas

L&S Waste Management is once again supporting vulnerable people across the Portsmouth area this Christmas by providing warm clothes and food parcels.

Management and staff at the Fareham based waste firm have been collecting boxes full of essential food items, which have been distributed at the annual Portsmouth in the Community (PITC) homeless lunch, which took place at Fratton Park on Monday 3rdDecember.

In addition to the generous donations of their staff and customers, the firm has allocated a further £1,000 towards shopping provisions to compile extra food parcels.

L&S Waste Management Managing Director, Mick Balch said: “We have been putting together food parcels for the past few years to support local people in need, however, this is the first time we have joined forces with Pompey in the Community. As an official PFC Club Partner, we are delighted to lend a hand.

“This time of year is particularly hard for those people living on the streets with nowhere to go. Although it’s only a small token, we hope we can make a difference to people who might be struggling this Christmas.”

The L&S food parcels include festive treats, such as Christmas cakes and chocolates, along with otherbasic supplies that many people take for granted.

In addition to the food parcels, L&S Waste is also supporting the PITC children’s Christmas Party to help bring a smile to the face of over 200 local, deprived children. This year’s event culminates in an exciting trip to the Butlins Christmas Panto. L&S is aiming to raise £2,000 to provide these children with a present and make sure the children have a Christmas experience they will never forget.
