New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions

As the New Year rolls round, we all pledge to start afresh and make resolutions to stick to in the upcoming months, but in time those promises are normally soon forgotten.

Whether you are a New Years resolution cliché who uses the same resolution each year - to join the gym/quit smoking/stop swearing or you have more personal resolutions, the majority of us normally fail quite miserably, quite quickly.

If you’re like me and want to lose those pounds that have slowly crept up on you throughout Christmas or whether your business would like to reassess their communications strategy, we want to help you make achievable resolutions for 2015.

We know in order for your goals to be attainable you need to make them simple and realistic. Just like our client objectives and employees, we want your resolutions to be SMART!

Let us explain…

Specific – You need a detailed goal.  For example, instead of saying you want to keep up-to-date with current affairs, say you will read the newspaper/ monitor news sites every morning.

Measureable  - How will you know when it’s accomplished? Maybe you would like your company to start writing a blog? You can measure this by setting a quantifiable goal e.g. 1 post a month.

Achievable – will you be able to successfully deliver or are you attempting too much?

Realistic – is this resolution something you will actually be able to accomplish? Take for example the classic diet resolution, realistically you won’t lose a stone in a day, so don’t set unrealistic goals or expectations for yourself.

Time-bound – finally, make sure you have a time plan or limit you would like to see your results by. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day!

If you would like any advice on setting your own PR and marketing objectives for 2015, get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
