Meachers Global Logistics Deliver Christmas Gifts To Under Privileged Children

Southampton based Meachers Global Logistics is helping to ship over 25,000 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to under privileged children overseas as part of a community initiative.

Meachers has collaborated with the Wessex Rotary Club to supply disadvantaged children with the shoeboxes packed full of gift items donated by local school pupils. Across two weekends, staff & volunteers have segmented the shoeboxes into sexes and seven different age groups, from unisex infants to boys and girls aged up from 0 to 15.

Over 25,000 shoeboxes have been received, organised by Meachers Global Logistics staff and loaded onto trailers and containers to be shipped to children in Albania, Macedonia and the Philippines in time for Christmas.

Meachers staff have donated time and resources free of charge in support of humanitarian aid for under privileged children.

Stuart Terris, Managing Director said: “We are delighted that our logistic capabilities are able to be of service for the Rotary club in supporting a great charity.”

David Moulton of the Rotary Club commented: “We are very grateful to Meachers Global Logistics for providing their service, which has resulted in a great saving for the Rotary Club.”
